Adefua Cultural Education Workshop (A.C.E.W)
(A.C.E.W), is a non-profit Organization that is central to youth and families within and surrounding Seattle communities. Providing year-round various interactive activities that engage, serves and have available West African experiences, both academically and socially to all generations.
OUR SCOPE
A newly affiliated partnership with Kouyate Arts has been governed to work towards building capacity within global communities that educate and empower youth and families thru the engagement of cultural music, song and dance. We facilitate a connectedness that enhances academics and family involvement.
The PURPOSE of Adefua is to provide cultural awareness.

They have always strived to bring the teachers who are top notch artists and are proficient instructors at dance and music. The artists they highlight share aspects of West African culture in a way that honors traditional arts. The work they do brings the community together and enrich us. I have been so grateful to take lessons under Ms. Afua! She is a very detailed teacher. She breaks down the steps for us, comes close to show someone who may need extra help. She is a gentle and kind teacher. I have benefited from her programs being free of charge. She's a huge asset to the community and to individual dancers giving us a new vocabulary to express ourselves. When she teach, she provides us with historical information so we know the origins and purpose of the movement. I love dancing with her and feel as though she is family. Her family is always there and she's a mothering spirit to all of us.
